In some Asian countries, Free Methodist believers have been forced to beg for food and money on street corners in order to provide for themselves and their families. When Asia Area Free Methodist Director David Yardy and his wife, Sherrill, became aware of the belivers’ needs, they began to pray that God would create an opportunity for change.

Through the Lord’s leading, SEED emerged to educate and assist Free Methodist artisans. SEED operates in operates in various developing countries, focusing on people who have great need for income. Each country where SEED operates is viewed as a separate entity. We work with indigenous leaders in order to develop country-specific programs that are appropriate to generate income for those in need. We also provide microenterprise training.

Mission Statement:
SEED (Serving, Encouraging, Equipping, Discipling) is committed to helping families in Free Methodist churches in developing countries generate income in order to adequately care for their financial needs. Through its network of Free Methodist members throughout the world, SEED will facilitate the emergence of self-sustaining, viable micro enterprises.
